Not all union members happy with Local 1440’s participation in March

Earlier on this blog, it was noted that some union miners (specifically miners from United Mine Workers of America Local 1440) are participating in the March on Blair Mountain. It should be noted, however, that not all union miners are happy with Local 1440’s participation in the March. Case in point: A video posted on the March on Blair’s official website shows a scene where two women on Thursday were holding a sign condemning Local 1440’s participation. The video, created by the group Fluxview U.S.A and posted to their YouTube channel, shows a sign that reads “Shame on you Local 1440. You betrayed your brother MTR [Mountain Top Removal] miners in Local 2286.” According to the website Unions.org, UMWA Local 2286 is based in Hurricane, West Virginia. A screen shot from the video is provided below, but you may wish to watch the original video, which can be found at this link.
